Personal Progress Airlines

Personal Progress is a goal-setting program for the girls in our church ages 12-18. On occasion we host an evening for the young women & their parents where awards for progress are handed out. A theme adds a whimsical atmosphere for the girls. This "Personal Progress Airlines" program was fun, fun, fun! The youth leaders cracked us up with their over-the-top stewardess & pilot attire.

All the "flight attendants" wore wigs - which totally transformed their appearances. They made their own hats & used scarfs left over from another activity.
Our "Pilot" was actually our Bishop & he had some wise words of counsel for the girls.
The chairs were arranged in isles to look similar to an airplane. And "beverage service" worked perfectly using a rolling cart from the church kitchen.
The "head flight attendant" was in charge of the Personal Progress awards ceremony. She gave special recognition the "Gold Medallion Members" {those receiving there Personal Progress jewelry}. Give this role to someone who can really ham it up!

I certainly enjoyed flying "Personal Progress Airlines"!

  1. That's a fun idea. I'll have to mention it in our ward. Are the pilots the bishopric?

    1. Thanks so much for your comment. No pilots in our bishopric, but they did a great job of pretending!

    1. Thank you for your comment. Personal Progress awards were handed out to the girls who had earned them (as "Medallion Members") & the new Beehive girls were introduced. Refreshments were passed out from the refreshment cart by the "flight attendant leaders".
