Ten of My All-time Favorite Books

My blog friend, Wendy, recently mused about her love of reading
on her blog No Botox Allowed.

It got me thinking of my favorite books &
I wanted to share a few with you.
Here they are . . .

- A Couple Favorite Classics -

Far From the Madding Crowd
by Thomas Hardy
I needed a few pages to get into it, but I really enjoyed it.
There is a fantastic love triangle in this book!

To Kill a Mockingbird
by Harper Lee
Beautiful story. Brilliant writing. Unforgettable characters.
I'm sure you've read it too - isn't it amazing?

- Riveting Reading -

March
by Geraldine Brooks
This book tells the story of the absent father of the
March family in Little Women. I couldn't put it down!
Rebeccca
by Daphne du Maurier
So mysterious & so great. I've never found an author who made me feel what the character feels like Daphne du Mauier.

- Life-Changing Reads -

The Hiding Place
by Corrie Ten Boom
My all time favorite book. Corrie is a shining example of
true Christianity, love & forgiveness.
Unbroken
by Laura Hillenbrand
At times it's hard to believe this is a true story. It helped me
better understand the sacrifices that have been made in my behalf.
1984
by George Orwell
Really thought provoking & creepier than ANY horror movie
I've ever seen. I wasn't the same after I read it.

- When I'm in the Mood to Laugh -

Miss Julia Speaks Her Mind
by Ann B. Ross
Oh my, I laughed out loud frequently when I read this - which drove my family nuts. They were relieved when it was over!

- Oh So Good! -

These is My Words
by Nancy E. Turner
Fiction. I heart the love story in this book so much.

- Spiritual -

Believing Christ
by Stephen E. Robinson
I adore this book & the follow-up Following Christ.

  1. Oooo! I love Top Ten Lists (my post later today is going to be a Top Ten Romantic Movies List). I added "March" to my list of "want to read" on goodreads. I'm a huge Little Women fan, and this sounds fascinating! My Mom also has The Hiding Place in her top ten. That's another one I know I need to read....so many books, so little time. Thanks for sharing these gems with us!

    1. Thanks, Blog Friend, for your comment. Yes, Mom was right - "The Hiding Place" is a must! Hope you like "March" too. It's not quite the gentle read that "Little Women" is though! I'll pop over & read your "Top Ten" list too.

      Warmly, Michelle
