We will be making our favorite
Homemade Salsa.

Here are the ingredients:
Homemade Salsa
This tried-and-true recipe is always a hit at our house.
If you like cilantro, you'll love it!

  • 1 large bunch of fresh cilantro
  • 1 or 2 bunches of green onion
  • 1 jalapeño
  • 1 Tbsp. minced garlic
  • 4 or 5 large tomatoes
  • 1/2 - 1 Tbsp. salt

Place first 3 "green" ingredients in a food processor & mince. Add garlic, tomatoes & salt. And mince finely.

  • Serve fresh. This salsa cannot be stored! Make it right before serving.
  • The heat can be controlled by adding the jalapeño a little at a time. I'm particularly wimpy about hot food, so I only use the outside of the pepper - no seeds! If my kids are making it, they use 2 jalapeños WITH the seeds!
  •  It doesn't really matter if you use yummy garden tomatoes or the practically plastic romas from the grocery store - it turns out the same.

PS - Don't you just love these orange & black tortilla chips?

  1. Salsa is a staple at our house, and I agree fresh is the only way to go! :)

    1. Hey Pam, Thanks for taking the time to comment. Have you shared your fresh salsa recipe on your blog? I'd love to try it.

      Warmly, Michelle

  2. YUMMO! I adore cilantro... and I have EVERYTHING I need to make this salsa RIGHT NOW. Even the jalapenos from my garden! Since I've been eating very, very clean I use salsa instead of salad dressing; so this is going to come in handy today! Thank you; and have a wonderful day! jules

    1. To "reply" to my own comment ... I had to come back and tell you I made this for lunch AND IT TASTES AWESOME. I used a whole pepper, my lips are on FIRE, but it is so worth it! Great post!!! xoxo

    2. . . . And I will reply to your reply! Hello Darling Jules, So glad you tried it and liked it. Thanks for letting me know & congrats on eating healthy!

      Warmly, Michelle
