Only 51 Days 'Til Halloween!

So are you
as obsessed fond of
 Halloween
as I am?

I am decorating
a little early this
year so that I can
share some fun ideas with you.

In this vignette,
I'm going for that
creepy apothecary look!
I found this awesome . . .
thing-a-ma-gig at the thrift store.

I think it was someone's homemade candle holder.
I took it apart & cleaned it, then removed the taper
candle holder thing in the middle
(so that I could use it for a pillar candle instead).
I also painted the base black.

Also, ever since I saw
(*creative goddess*)
Kristine Mckay's
apothecary idea,
I've been collecting bottles
from the thrift store . . .
to download Kristine's
apothecary labels to put on your own bottles!

This crow was only $5 & I think he looks
almost real perched atop this hurricane
that I showed you earlier.

A dollar store tarantula looks
like he's crawling on these old books.

for more about the book page rosette balls
in the background.

And here it is all put together
to tell a creepy, but fun, story . . .

More Halloween to come!

Warmly, Michelle

  2. What a great spooky display. I love those book rosettes! All of your finds combine for a great mix of heights and textures that give it a lot of interest. I don't know if you saw it when you were by earlier, but I am hosting a linky party too and I'd love for you to join us at A Crafty Soiree some time.

PS: I love Lily too and that dress makeover you did earlier looks beautiful!

  3. What a great display.
We're not big on halloween here in Australia... we've only ever had one person come to our house trick or treating (we've lived here for nearly 10 years).
I can't wait to see the rest of your decorations.
