It was amazing that the month before our extension office put together a night to come and bring a bag, they showed you what you needed and had businesses donate merchandise. We put together our bag, added a few other items of our picking and I put it in our basement and didn't give it another thought until that night and we had what was on our back and that bag. Better to be prepared and never need it. We now have a tote with essentials and a couple of bags in it. And I agree the Red Cross was a godsend for two days.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14321683178211871143noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3919997075219845666.post-5944015483943965802011-03-17T07:37:59.550-07:002011-03-17T07:37:59.550-07:00You are prepared girl. Seriously....if we even got so much as "drifted in" for very long, we could be stuck for days and not be able to get out. Gotta have some staples at least. <br />we are a work in progress for sure....I am trying to "teach" my hubby the importance of preparedness.wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13619293936418976914noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3919997075219845666.post-65404667941218159352011-03-15T17:27:03.923-07:002011-03-15T17:27:03.923-07:00Wow, I'm impressed with how you have worked ou...Wow, I'm impressed with how you have worked out this backpack system! By the way, my father was a builder and went south to work after Hurricane Camille. I was 2 weeks old, and my parents packed up and we all stayed in a motel for 6 weeks.
